Early Career Clinical Supervision

Service Description

This supervision offering is designed for counselling, social work graduates and early-career practitioners in the first years of practice who are learning how to hold responsibility, complexity and uncertainty without losing confidence or wellbeing. The early stages of clinical work often bring imposter syndrome, fear of getting it wrong, boundary uncertainty and the early signs of burnout — even when you are thoughtful, capable and deeply committed to ethical care. Many practitioners carry this quietly, unsure where it is safe to slow down and think. Supervision provides a reflective, non-directive space to pause, make sense of your clinical experiences and develop professional judgement without pressure to perform, impress or prove competence. The focus is not on having answers, but on learning how to think, how to pace yourself, and how to work sustainably over time. This supervision supports: development of professional identity and confidence ethical decision-making and boundary clarity reflective clinical thinking nervous system regulation under responsibility early burnout prevention and sustainability in practice Sessions are calm, contained and grounded. Uncertainty is normalised, questions are welcomed, and your capacity is respected. Supervision is held with care, clarity and ethical attention, drawing on over 30 years’ experience across counselling, social work, education and leadership, alongside Annette’s role as a Clinical Educator with headspace. Supervision may also support annual professional requirements, including the 10 hours of supervision required by many counselling programs and professional bodies.
